Ce charmant port date d'environ 1500. Il a été élargi et amélioré au 19ième siècle. Les vaisseaux faisaient ici autrefois commerce avec les Lowlands et la Baltique.
The largest group of lime kilns in Scotland, they date from 1778/79, and form part of an early industrial complex. From the nearby harbour, lime, limestone and coal were shipped out.
