The Country Park is an attractive area, comprising reclaimed coal mining waste-land, gently rolling grassland and woodland. It covers an area of 1,200 acres, 260 of which form Loch Ore. Loch Ore is a stunning 260-acre loch located entirely within the Country Park. The Loch is regularly stocked with Brown and Rainbow Trout. Boats supplied with engines are available for hire including a wheely boat for wheelchair users. Anglers can take 5 fish per ticket.
Superb nine hole course (par 72 for 18 holes) bounded by maturing trees. Set entirely within the Country Park views down the fairways offer atmospheric glimpses of the Mary Pit Head and Benarty Hill. Nature reserve with bird watching hide.
