Off-Road

There are also clubs and courses where the fun element comes to the fore – though safety and improving skills are still paramount. In many cases 4 x 4 vehicles are supplied for a skills day – though you can also bring your own.

Not all off-roading involves vehicles that are also at home on conventional roads. Though some have serious agricultural uses, the off-road family also includes fun vehicles such as go-karts, rally carts, trail bikes and quad bikes. Venues for these smaller off-road vehicles, either on dedicated tracks or cross-country trails, are also widely available in Scotland. Some of these venues also offer a driving experience along with a related leisure activity, for example, clay shooting or archery.

Adventure »

A real Scotland adventure in stunning scenery can take many forms. It may well involve water – everything from gentle canoeing to the adrenalin rush of white water rafting! The holiday adventure experience afloat also takes in sea kayaking, especially around the spectacular western seaboard of Scotland.

Cycling »

Watersports »

Scotland is a great setting for sailing and watersports of all kinds and has well-developed watersports facilities with centres in many parts of the country – from sea kayaking around Barra in the Outer Hebrides to wind-surfing on Loch Ken in Galloway.
